About MIPPA
Formed in 1997, the Michigan Independent Power Producers Association (MIPPA) is an association of independent energy generators, businesses, organizations and individuals who have an interest in independent power production in Michigan.

Goals
MIPPA aims to promote and support the common interests of independent power producers with facilities under development and operating in Michigan; to protect the continuing viability of the facilities that its members own and operate; to enhance the role of independent power producers in a deregulated generation market; to maintain the viability of renewable energy; and to educate its members regarding the electric industry in Michigan and the United States.

Charter Members
MIPPA Charter Members are Michigan power generators who hold Power Purchase Agreements with a Michigan utility and/or generation which is capable of generating electricity for their own use or sale in Michigan's competitive generation market. Both renewable and fossil -fueled facilities are accepted. Associate membership is open to any firm or organization having an interest in or involvement with the Michigan independent electric industry.
